Nanchang University, founded in 1921, is a world-class discipline-building university with a national “dual-class” programme. It is the only national “211 Project” key construction university in Jiangxi Province. It is a joint university of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education of Jiangxi Province. It is a high-level university in Jiangxi Province. The school is located in the “City of Heroes” in Nanchang. It has 5 campuses including Qianhu, Qingshan, Donghu, Poyang and Fuzhou. The former campus covers an area of 4,520 mu and the school buildings cover an area of 1.5 million square metres. The school has its origins in the Jiangxi National Medical College, founded in 1921, and the National Chung Cheng University, founded in 1940. In 1993, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Technology merged to form Nanchang University, which pioneered the reform of the country’s higher education system. In 2005, Nanchang University and Jiangxi Medical College merged to form the new Nanchang University, which opened a new chapter in the school’s reform and development.

The School and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada jointly set up a joint food science and food safety laboratory, established a Russian language centre together with Russian universities and set up 10 foreign internship bases. The cooperation with Queen Mary University of London, UK, is the highest level of Sino-foreign cooperation in biomedical education. The school has established Confucius Institutes and Confucius Institutes in France, Spain and Indonesia, as well as a Chinese Studies Centre in Russia. Separate hostel for male and female students, male students are not allowed to enter the female hostel.

Nanchang University is a WHO-recognized, PMC-listed university for Pakistani students, graduates from overseas students are also eligible for the ECFMG certificate.

Important Points to Read:

  • The student will be required to pay a fee in RMB on arrival, otherwise, the hostel will not be provided for the student.
  • The fee paid will not be refunded.
  • The student will have to pay for stationery, electricity, a one-way plane ticket to Nanchang and the airport, and an airport pick-up fee.
  • Food expenses at Nanchang Medical University are usually between RMB 1,000 and RMB 1,200 per month.
  • Students are required to pay their own residence permit fee and insurance fee from 2nd year onwards.
  • The student will abide by the policies and regulations of Nanchang Medical School and the Nanchang Education Department.
  • Pakistani students will follow the policies of PMC and MOE of China respectively.
